How to Find Mentors
I don’t know if I’d be where I am today if I hadn’t had the mentors to show me the way.?
Sure, I would have gotten there eventually (I’d like to think), but it would have taken me years longer to achieve this through trial and error. Amongst all the benefits of having a mentor, that’s the number one - shortening your learning curve.?
The year of my 19th birthday, I earned approximately $17,000. Long story short, I made the decision to hire a mentor for $500 per month, and the following year I walked away with over $100,000. Since then I’ve hired mentors for all sorts of things. You can find mentors for business, earning more money, marriage, parenting, you name it. I’m a firm believer that instead of learning something slowly yourself, you should hire someone else who already possesses the knowledge you want, and has made the mistake you’re bound to make.??
For 15 years I’ve invested in myself through mentorship and it’s completely changed the trajectory of my life.?
You’ve got two options:
The first way to get a mentor is to begin networking. Attend local events, check out meetup.com, just put yourself out there. You have to go out and find them because they won’t come knocking at your door.?

You can find a mentor for free or you can pay for a mentor. The key difference between the two is that for free mentorship, you won’t be able to speak to them on a consistent basis. I have a friend who has an awesome mentor but only chats with him 2-3 times a year, whereas if you pay for a mentor they feel morally obligated for your success. Your success is their success which means they’ll be checking in regularly, making sure to keep you accountable for your goals, and filling you with all the knowledge that they’ve acquired over the years. They’re there for tough love and to call you out on your BS.?
There are benefits and downsides to both free and paid mentors, but if you find one that will show you the ropes and invest their value and knowledge into you, then your life will change.?
They will make you up your game, think differently and bigger than you ever have before.?
If you’re serious about upping your game, I suggest shaving off those years ahead of you by hiring a mentor and allowing them to teach you their secrets so that you can uplevel in the next few months.?
