Jobs are in pretty short supply these days. Sometimes it seems like it's easier to find toilet paper than a new job.
You can still find a job even when jobs are in short supply, but you have to approach it differently.
You've got to remember these things when there are shortages of jobs:
- A Good Resume Isn't Good Enough: When you're competing against so many more job seekers for far fewer jobs, you've got to do better than a good resume. The basic resume you get from outplacement, most career coaches/authors, certified resume writers/high volume resume mills/job board resume services isn't competitive when you have so many others applying for the same job you are.
- Applying Online Won't Get You What You Want: Even during a strong economy, you have terrible odds of getting past the ATS when you apply to jobs online. To find a job when they are in short supply, you need to learn how to be the first choice. When you apply online, you're too late to be the first choice.
- You Need To Show You'll Do More: By doing more in your job search than any of your competitors, you'll differentiate yourself ... by showing you'll do more on the job.
The job seekers who do what other job seekers do, will have a long, frustrating job search ... because they'll look just like everyone else. To find a job when jobs are in short supply, you need to break away from the pack, to stand up and be noticed.
The good news is, these are all strategies that can be learned.
Want to learn how to break away from the pack, so you can get past ATSs, get noticed and land your next job during the recession?
This is the 3rd recession I've recruited/coached through, so I've seen first hand what resume and job search strategies succeed during recessions. I've also seen mistakes candidates make, causing their recession job searches to fail. I've been through this before and know what works and what doesn't.
That's why numerous job seekers who work with me have already gotten job offers this month.
As a top national recruiter who reads hundreds of resumes per day, who has helped hundreds of thousands of candidates in their job search, and seen thousands of employers' job search processes from the inside, I've got a different perspective than most career coaches.
I see that most job seekers do essentially the same things, even when they think they are job searching differently. I also see most job seekers were taught search methods that get screened out by ATSs and eliminate them from consideration, because they conflict with the employer's hiring process.
But I've been teaching job seekers to overcome ageism for 13+ years by using non-traditional resume/job search strategies that demonstrate impact rather than just being average. I'll show you how to beat ageism and find a great job during the recession by understanding employers' point of view and hiring processes ... and using this understanding to beat your competition.
(I'm not just a career coach. I've also been a top national recruiter for the last 15 years ... so you'll get advice from a different perspective - an insider's point of view.)
Let me show you what you can do now to change your job search and resume so you can find a great job during the recession, even if you're unemployed or over 40.
