Here are 5 simple ways to find a job through LinkedIn:
1. Connect through a reference: Find out the hiring manager & recruiter through your network. Get connected through someone who knows the hiring manager or recruiter. References work 100 times faster & have a better chance of conversion. You can also find out open positions which are not openly advertised.
2. Network: Meeting & speaking to new people every day is an excellent way to build your network. The bigger your network the more the probability of your knowing the hiring manager. Be active & engage with your network. Don't ask about jobs. Most opportunities lie in your third-degree connections.
3. Give: Start giving to your network by helping others. This will help build relationships & your network. It also starts off a cycle of goodness & abundance. What you give is what you will get.
4. Build your Brand: showcase your area of expertise on LinkedIn through posts/articles/comments. You never know your hiring manager or recruiter may read it.
5. Volunteering & Internships may be a good way to upskill & network to find a job. This can be done at any age.
Applying to jobs posted may not work in this market, this is least used by recruiters.
We got this call from a job seeker, who had been working with start-ups for the past 5 yrs.
"I have been applying for jobs, but I am not getting any interview calls, what I should do, its been 3 months."
We helped him revamp his LinkedIn profile & resume to highlight the skills required by the job descriptions of openings in the market.

We requested him to make a list of all the series A/B funded start-ups which got funding in the past 6 months. He found them from start-up websites/media & prepared a list of 65 firms.
We then asked him to ping the founders on LinkedIn/start-up platforms. As he did that, he was surprised that almost 30 of them responded. We then prepared a proper script of what he should be saying in his interviews & practiced it in the mock interviews as well.
He got 30 interview calls; he reached the final rounds in 15 of them because of his relevant profile & experience. Happy to share he cracked a final offer.
The whole process took 30 days. But the key was a clear strategy of how to find a job.
Just applying for jobs will not work in this job market.
What is your job search strategy?
P.S: If you can find a job in this market you are either highly skilled or amazingly networked.
