How to find image consulting clients?
The best way to build an image consulting client base is by partnering with nonprofit organizations like Dress for Success and One Hundred Suits for One Hundred Men. They provide clothes to empower people. Clothes are the beginning of the transformation to be at best.
Also, it is a great way to build a portfolio and expand the network, especially for image consultants just starting this rewarding and influential career as an image consultant.
Besides finding clients, donating image consulting talents to people who need to boost their confidence also does the same magic for the giver.
Image consultants gain confidence by witnessing their work take place and transform people's lives, like finding jobs, starting relationships and pursuing dreams. The impact is not measurable.
Giving back
When I started my image consulting business in Korea, I had no network and was still learning my way. Even still, I wanted to continue helping people look better and feel great about themselves, just as I began my journey as an image consultant in my living room.
After searching for nonprofit organizations where I could donate my image consulting services, I found a Korean nonprofit organization that helps people prepare for job interviews by renting suits at very affordable prices.
I emailed the organization and introduced myself. The chairman of the organization was open to talking with me. From there, we developed the Confident Consulting program.
I spent three months with each participant, from the first consulting session to the final transformation. My main goal is to give people hope. Their new appearance should be the armor that helps them take on the world.

The changes that the participants experience prove that looking good is more than wearing stylish clothes. Some of them have landed their dream jobs during the program. Others have excelled in their work or identified their life goals.
What I receive
I worked with over 50 participants in the program. As much as Confident Consulting has improved the participants' lives, it has also influenced my consulting style.
The program allows me to interact with a different group of people than my regular clientele. I have gained a lot from experience. It helped me to practice my consulting skills and research the most effective strategies.
My volunteer work has made me a more well-rounded, knowledgeable professional. It has also allowed me to meet new people.
One of the participants got a job working for an aspiring politician. He needed to improve his brand, so she brought him to me for image consulting. It was an unexpected connection and it happened because of my volunteer work.
It takes nothing to be a giver. The return will be the foundation of your image consulting business.
