How to find gold in your CRM!
When you look at your CRM, what does it tell you? Can you easily identify your prospects, contacts, clients, and lost clients?
If you use something like Pipedrive or Trello, then yes. Same with SalesForce or even Excel.
We spend a lot of time looking after people's CRM systems and have discovered that normally, the issues are the same.
So, what makes a good CRM is the data that’s in it. Are the phone numbers correct? Are your conversations logged? If another member of your team looked at it, would they know exactly what was going on with any particular client?
We know it’s time-consuming copying emails into your CRM contacts, as well as typing up phone calls, but it’s a great habit to get into. You could open up any contact and see every conversation at a glance rather than trawling back through all your emails.
We know you’ll be thinking about growing your team, and by putting good processes in place now means that you will be able to create a team that does everything perfectly.
The gold within your CRM is the details and organisation.
That prospect whom you spoke to 4 months ago and you want to get back in touch- well imagine if they’d mentioned that their birthday was tomorrow in one of the emails. What better reason to get in touch? These key pieces of information are perfect for moving people along your sales funnel. As long as they are recorded!
Once you know the details are perfect, it's then about organising. Segment your list into different groups, looking for as many identifiers as you possibly can. The more you're able to segment your list, the more personal and targeted you can be.
The more you work on your CRM, the better it will be.
To make your CRM worthwhile, you need to set aside a day or two to accomplish this. Only then will it be easier as an ongoing task!
