How Far Can I Push an Idea with Free Trial Cursor - Day 8

Alright, it is Day number 8. Given the over-time work yesterday, I intentionally keep today a light touch. Also, getting back to more "PM" thinking, the data-driven discovery of the money, the product, and the market.

TL:DR;

Day 8 Deliverable

Finally get to "closing the feedback loop" with the least effort of adding a kickstart-kind pricing page. The intent is obviously to collect trends and data points over the time by switching prices and features in each tier. In the ruthless practical reality, there is also a challenge of initial go-to-market, free tier user stickiness, so on so force. But this is just a prototype and we will leave those thorny questions out for now. Here is what's new in the app by end of day 8.

Fun Parts

  • The multi-model capability is fantastic - I gave a reference image of a pricing page and asked the large model to reference. It totally gets it. Not pixel wise copying but borrow the look and feel and stay compliant to existing style.
  • Like the discovery nature - I asked a few open-ended questions ranging from a better style "alert" to visualization options of subscription interests data. While there is no guarantee that the large model's recommendation live up to expectations on all aspects, they are good enough for someone to have a starting point and direction.
  • Talking more is generally helpful - It starts coming to my notice that being a bit more verbose in the conversation could actually benefit the large model to better understand my intention. Maybe this is due to the fact that I am not a native English speaker and still yet be able to talk both precisely and concisely at the same time. (again, I want a :sob: emoji here)

Cursor Dashboard

I am quite satisfied that including both frontend and backend updates (track user subscription tier, interests, and free trial usage) only took 23 requests. Also, it seems I am officially in the "yellow warning zone", indicating near use-up of premium model requests. I may be able to talk about the sense of difference between premium and non-premium models toward the end of this series.

Representative Conversations

The multi-model capability to reference a sample look and feel but not copying pixels.

Request update of look and feel with a reference image

Save me a ton by quickly help me discover a useful package.

Recommend sweetalert2 when I ask for a prettier alert experience

Seems like a good starting point for data visualization of subscription interests and feature popularity. I may try to get this implemented if time/resource allows.

Recommendations on visualizing subscription interests and feature popularity

A couple quite verbose requests.

Initial request of creating a Pricing page
Request to update Pricing page to capture subscription interests
A further clarification request
