How to be an expert #expert #expertise #smallbusiness

Imagine yourself as an expert: speaking on stage, talking on the TV show panel, on the phone to your clients.

BLOGGING:

Start positioning yourself as an expert in your writing and videos.

Write a blog post, and back it up with a video on YouTube.

Tell people how to do things, and make things, and show them the best way to do something….

Start vlogging and blogging and seeing viewed as an expert. Write “how to” posts… tell us how to build sales funnels, or bake fruit cakes, or create a website.

FACEBOOK GROUPS:

Go into Facebook groups, or LinkedIn discussions, and every time someone posts something that reflects your field of expertise then comment on it, and try to GIVE, GIVE, GIVE.

Be generous with your time and your knowledge.

Very soon people will regard you as an expert on a particular subject, and tag you in posts, and share your content.

 JOURNALISTS:

Journalists are always in a rush (I know, I was a journalist for over 20 years). They are busy, they’re on deadline and their editor wanted that story to be first and fastest. They are looking for an expert in a particular subject and they turn to their friend Google. They type in: “Expert in…..” and up pops…

YOU and your blog post or YouTube video that has been really well optimized in SEO searches.

It’s a quick click on your website to see if you look kosher and knowledgeable, and before you know it, they’re checking out your about page and calling you up.

Before you have a moment to think, you’re saying yes to appearing on the 6 o’clock news, or in a national newspaper.

What’s the moral of that story? Just do it.

The four steps that you need to follow:

·      Get blogging

·      Optimise your blog posts so that they rank well in SEO

·      Back up your blog post with a video on YouTube so that people can check you out

·      Keep optimizing so that you appear at the top of search listings
