How to Excite a recruiter with your LinkedIn Profile

Recruiters have a job to do, and that is to find a candidate with the potential to be great for a placement, while protecting the company from bad hires. Recruiters can be your friend when you make that process easy for them.
Here's how!
First, you need to find them and connect. Don't worry. The majority of recruiters are very receptive to LinkedIn inquiries. Use the ADVANCED SEARCH, which is accessible to the top right of the Search bar on your LinkedIn page. Select "People" from the drop-down next to the Search box, then click on "Advanced." Search for the terms "recruiter" and your area of specialty. You will see you can specify many other useful options.
Next, introduce yourself and let them know BRIEFLY and SPECIFICALLY why you are reaching out. After the initial connection, staying on the recruiter’s requires some additional effort on your part, but making this effort is to your advantage. Sending one short, professional followup message per month will really keep you at the forefront of the recruiter's mind.

- A robust network matters. Make sure you are connected to many colleagues and your level of industry peers.
- Recruiters love recommendations. Garner a few from connections who are at your level or above.
- Concrete credibility markers are a must. You have to own your accomplishments, strengths, and describe your specific achievements.
- Showcase a personality and enthusiasm around your career trajectory with the tone of your Summary. Articles, videos, slideshows and blog posts you share help to show who you are as well.
- Give them the digits. Include your phone number or at least an e-mail address in your Summary, and a call to action to connect with you.
