How to Engage with Reflective Questions

How to Engage with Reflective Questions

You may be wondering if receiving a question in your inbox every week can really lead to personal growth. The honest answer is that it depends. If you simply read the question quickly, laugh it off, answer it quickly in your head, or write it down once, your growth will likely be limited.

However, if you read the question carefully, write it down, and spend 20 - 30 minutes engaging with it throughout the week, the question will help you gain clarity and build stronger relationships with yourself and those around you.

Here's my recommended process:

  1. Read the question and write it?in a note on your phone or a piece of paper.
  2. Immediately add any thoughts, ideas, or feelings that come to mind and are associated with your answer, and then stop.
  3. Read the question again before going to bed that night or the next night. This is important because it will allow you to?tap into your subconscious mind.
  4. Have conversations with anyone and everyone you feel comfortable talking through question with. This can help you uncover insights you may have missed thinking through it alone.
  5. Rewrite the question in a new note on your phone or a blank piece of paper and answer it again with any thoughts, ideas, or feelings that now come to your mind. Then you can compare your new note to your previous note and finalize your answer.

Repeat steps two and three as many times as you need to continue refining your answers. Follow this process and allow the renewed clarity to transform you.
