How EinsteinAI? Citizen Data Scientists Build Value in Their Departments. They Build AI Agents & Assistants!

From GW’s AI Upskilling Workbench….

We remind you of the 6 Functions of Leadership Management: Strategy, Planning, Organizing, Leadership, Teamwork, and Control. Each of these functions have a series of “hard-skill” competencies which every manager must master in order to become an executive.

As we begin training and mentoring department managers on the competencies of Artificial Intelligence, we always mention that AI is a competency of the management function of Leadership, so it is key that all leaders master the tenets of AI as well as all the others.

However, no competency of any of the 6 functions operates unilaterally, but always depends on one or more competency of the other 5 functions to be effective in a management process.? For example, setting objectives is a competency of Planning; but measuring the success of achievement of those objectives is based on the competency of metrics or KPIs in the function of Control.

Let’s look what happens when a leadership manager starts to use AI Agents and AI Assistants to make it easier to achieve objectives within his or her department. That leader starts to automate processes of his direct reports using AI Agents and Assistants, eliminating weekly hours of routine work in their workload , or what I call busy work. ?

Let’s say the leader has 10 direct reports, and eliminates 10% of each of their workloads of 40 work hours per week, in developing and implementing an AI Agent. That’s a total savings of 40 work hours per week of the leader’s direct reports, or about 160 work hours per month, and 1,920 work hours per year!

Which is where the hard-skill competency of transforming your organization comes in. ?Transforming, which used to be called streamlining your organization, is a competency of the management function of Organizing. ?Now you can see how AI/Leadership links with the hard skills of Transforming/Organizing.

Managers who haven’t built a single agent think the end result of hourly savings is the prize! But the real reward is the skill itself, knowing how to build and deploy agents. Those who master that skill will always be in demand, and it’s not the person with the Expert Data Scientist skills that are needed, but those domain experts within your own department who have upskilled their specialist talent by learning how to develop and implement EinsteinAI? Agents, Assistants, and co-pilots!
