Whom should one be loyal to?

Either from a #client to a business or both?

I don't know why, but whenever we discuss loyalty, we tend to assume that clients have a duty to remain devoted. Despite this "belief," in my opinion, we should take both sides' allegiance into account.

I won't get into why I believe this way in order to keep this article beneficial for you. I'm going to give you some direct advice on how to #buildrelationships with your clients in 2023.

Before discussing specifics, it can help to provide some social evidence of the value of customer loyalty and the trends that the consumer market will exhibit in 2023.

I found these notes in the LinkedIn weekly newsletter "This week in Marketing":

65% of consumers say personalization earns loyalty in 2023.

This statistic, among others, was included in a?new global Marketing Tech News survey of 5,000 consumers. The survey focused on how buyers are responding to an uncertain global economy and how brands can build customer loyalty in 2023.

Among the survey’s major findings:

  • 81% of respondents will reassess their budget in 2023
  • 78% plan to reassess their travel & hospitality budget
  • 70% plan to reassess their media & entertainment budget
  • 52% expect more from competitive brands as a result of the current economic climate
  • 76% say they’re more loyal to companies providing data security

A quick explanation of the first and last:

  • reassessing the budget means some cut-off may happen, if your product is not valuable enough it will be dropped down from the list of your customer
  • some data leak scandals and technology enhancements push people to take action on privacy and security. Make your customers aware of how secure your system is.

Let's see what are the main tips that we can earn loyalty in 2023 other than loyalty programs, rewards, and loyalty apps:

  1. Focus on quality. Make sure your customer is happy with your product or service and that your customers can take full advantage of them. Just simply ask them if they have any concerns or feedback.
  2. Implement AI-driven Solutions: Utilize AI-driven technology, such as Chatbots and AI-powered automation, to better understand your customers and their needs. By understanding customer needs and preferences, you can deliver a personalized experience that customers respond to positively.
  3. Build Connections Through Social Media: Use social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. to interact with customers and build meaningful relationships with them. Share content, reply to questions, offer discounts and rewards to loyal customers, and engage with customers consistently to show them you care and value their business.
