I’m back with another truth bomb that will help you raise more capital. ??
It’s no secret that raising capital today is very different from raising capital 1-2 years ago.
Maybe you’re in the middle of a raise right now.?
You’re sending emails, you’re adding deadlines to create urgency, but you’re raising way less capital than you were a year ago. ??
You’re probably hearing people say it’s really hard to raise right now, so you’re just chalking it up to the economy. ?
[Be careful what you allow into your subconscious mind, my friend!] ??
When you subconsciously agree with a statement like that, you don’t follow through with the actions required to get the results because your mind is already making excuses for subpar results. (Read that again!) ??
Raising capital right now is not difficult, it’s just requiring skills you may have not yet developed. I’m talking about sales skills.
?? Here’s the truth:
To raise capital on repeat – in any market condition – requires CONVERSATIONS with your investors.
You may have built a beautiful funnel and sent excellent emails about your deal, but if you’re not getting on the phone and talking to your investors, you will struggle!
If the magic formula is to simply get on the phone and call your investors, why are you experiencing resistance to it? ??

I was doing a coaching session recently with capital raisers in my coaching program and helping them with this very challenge!??
This is the head trash they were dealing with:
“I don’t want to call my investors because I feel like I’m bothering them – I already sent a few emails.”?
They were hoping that the interested investors would just go to their investor portal and start filling out docs.
I'm not saying this doesn't happen - it certainly will - but it's only going to account for 50% or less of your actual potential that you can raise.
Once we worked through the resistance of not wanting to get on the phone...
We walked through the conversation – exactly how to frame it and what to say when they called their investors.?
Do you know what happened after that?
Capital rolled in from those phone calls. ??????
I’ll never get tired of saying this…?
Conversations = Capital!
When you frame the conversation the correct way, you’ll never have to worry about coming across as pushy or salesy.
