Good news - there is a meal plan that is both delicious and nutritious. The Mediterranean diet has been thoroughly studied time and time again and a majority of studies conclude that it benefits brain health including memory, depression, and various other aspects.

As Health.com states, the Mediterranean diet has a long standing reputation for being a heart-healthy plan. However, more research teams are discovering that it makes the brain happy too. Thirteen scientific studies found at least some form of association between the Mediterranean diet and brain effects. These include slow rates of cognitive decline and an increase in memory and recall. Health.com goes on to mention that these effects were noted on a global scale, which further solidifies these findings. 

Of course, the Mediterranean diet is only part of the battle. A healthy life in general can contribute to improved brain health including refraining from smoking cigarettes, cutting out excess stress, and more.
