How Does Health Effects Leadership of Top Executives?

The world is witnessing lots of myths about health, and higher executives are more prone to disorders for a myriad of reasons. Bi-Proficiency is a campaign to bridge the gaps and fix all the loopholes in this regard.

With this newsletter, we aim to make executives aware of what they are losing, what must be done, and in which way! Wishing you a perfect pink of health and a happy reading as well!

Leadership has vivid definitions across pieces of literature from different lexicons. But all of them boil down to the visionary capabilities and the power to persist on them diligently in the long run while motivating and empowering others to work towards the finish line.

In this process, the leaders are subjected to immense pressure, which translates to overwhelming stress.

Leaders have to put others first and sometimes even have to sacrifice their well-being in the process. Many times it has been experienced that corporate leaders work hard to up-skilling themselves but never find a moment to work on their health. Putting time for health is the time staked, which could have been used productively for meeting the target!??????

But all this is never a good idea for long-term success, and CXOs need to inculcate this in their minds at all costs!

It is understandable and relatable as when work piles up self-care often take the back seat when compared with other pressing priorities.

Taking care of your health significantly affects your energy level and stamina- the foremost prerequisite of a good leader.

While good health may or may not make (or break) great leadership but it definitely accounts for better brain functions, sustained energy, and robust physiological resilience against unpleasant scenarios.

Putting work ahead of self originates from a good feeling- the feeling of giving all your to the work. Putting in the best efforts and doing as much you can for your work is something worthy of applause & appreciation. But there must be an optimization so that the good work can be continued for a longer time!

And this holds more importance for the executives accountable for the overall orchestrations.?

CXOs need to reprioritize their list of duties and place their health on the topmost part. And even if, at the initial stage, this is making them seem less effective on a few short-term tasks they must not slide the health section at the bottom.

There must be a proper & healthy routine for yourself but with small steps, you can witness a big transformation. And the following four pillars of health, when followed strictly can render amazing benefits:

  1. Proper Nutrition- This is what fuels your brain!
  2. Quality Sleep- This helps in better decision-making!
  3. Physical Activity- This helps in physical & mental alertness!
  4. Meditation: This keeps pressure not turning to stress!

The best part about these fantastic four factors is that they always work in interconnection, synergistically. And, the sum of the whole is always better than the individual results.?

Neglecting anyone will lack others as well. So pay attention to all of them.?

‘Win the Morning’ Strategy?

Getting regular morning exercise will stimulate positive adjustments to your sleeping habits. Getting up a bit earlier to fit in a workout will help to get in bed earlier. Sleeping little earlier help gain the advantage of the melatonin spike that is witnessed around 10 PM.

Morning exercises have been proven to render a greater positive impact, and also help rectify sleep patterns. And having that physical activeness outside in the open makes one exposed to soothing daylight is also a factor in restoring alertness during work hours the day.

Therefore, my advice to all CXOs is- Win the Morning, Win the Day!

Start your day with some rigorous physical activity and reap the benefits of a positive ripple effect on other areas of your health and leadership at once!

Research has also concluded and all must have experienced as well that willpower decreases over course of the day. So, it is always advised to do anything that requires determination to start at the start of the day. So, if you are looking to start exercising, then make a plan to execute it in the morning.???

If you create a specific plan for anything then chances are that you are more likely to achieve it. Therefore first make a great plan on the basis of the aforementioned discussion, and win the morning and win the day.?

Stay tuned for the specific researches in the realms of health & fitness for the executives.?
