How does it feel to win 3 Gold Lions (and a Silver)?
I guess it's like being a lion: hunting for days, and then finally lying on the savannah after a fresh organic gazelle lunch, totally satisfied.
Our campaign for IKEA Saudi Arabia received four Lions in Cannes after the five pencils at D&AD. It's amazing. To put it in perspective, we provided nearly 10% of all the Gold Lions that were awarded to Ogilvy Worldwide (network of the year at Cannes for fifth year running).
One more metaphor with lions and then I finish: they hunt in packs. I would like to thank our IKEA client and every member of the team at Memac Ogilvy Jeddah and Dubai who made this success story possible. I would also like to thank all the people who worked with me there on less famous projects and helped us win the IKEA pitch in two consecutive years. You know, it would be hard to get awards had you lost the client.
Now, being a freelance creative and a startup mentor, I will try to follow exactly the same mission as before when I was Executive Creative Director. Create good stuff that makes sense.
