How does the Earth Cycler calculate carbon emission savings?

As the Earth Cycler measures inputs it is relatively easy to calculate the carbon saving from the use of the machine. Using globally accepted carbon factors from DEFRA a carbon saving calculation can be made. For example, for every 1,000kg of food waste added to the Earth Cycler, 617kg of carbon emissions are saved vs. sending the waste to a landfill.

Input and output data is recorded and stored on the Earth Cycler.
