How does colors change the perception your space

One of the most common tips I usually tell my clients is regarding colors.

Colors could be one of the most effective visual tricks that could manipulate our feelings and psychology, especially when it comes to the colors of the spaces we live in and visit.

wall and ceiling painting could increase or decrease the spaciousness visually and make a room look different "smaller, bigger or cozier" It could also affect us by making us feel more cold, hot or even Hungrier .. as proven by some studies

Enlarge your space

By using light colors which will reflect natural light and make surfaces appear larger to the eye.

Compact your space

when the idea is to make the room appear more compact, smaller and cozier. opting for stronger colors on wall surfaces which will absorb most of natural light.

Lower your ceiling level

There are times when lowering the height of the ceiling can make the space more pleasant and provide a welcoming feeling. when painting it in a darker color than the walls or leaving the material texture visible, this feature will give the impression that the ceiling is lower.

Stretch your space

there are some apartment whose lower ceiling give a claustrophobic feel to the space, painting the walls in a darker color and leaving the ceiling white makes it feel like a higher ceiling.

Wider your space

painting the back wall and ceiling with the same darker colors and leaving the side walls lighter will make the space appear wider and more spacious. this is a technique widely used in corridors or narrow rooms.

Narrow your space

painting the two opposite side walls dark colors and leaving the background and ceiling in light colors will make the space narrower to the eyes,

Shorten your space

if you have very large space in your home and want it to feel more intimate, invest in dark tone on the back wall in contrast to light colors elsewhere.

Highlight a wall

its recommended to keep it a lighter color while others have a darker tint, this causes the eye to be drawn to it.

Shorten the walls

if the ideas to make the walls shorter, applying a darker shade to the bottom of the wall will work perfectly.
