How does CNY holiday affect your Orders?

CNY holiday is the most important holiday in China,and it is also the longest one.In this article,we will take 2021 CNY holiday as an example,to see how does it affect your orders.

Schedule of 2021 CNY holiday(it depends):

Sales office:start from Feb 9th and last for 7-14 days;

Workshop:start from Feb 4th and last for 20-25 days.

• How does it affect the production?

#Busy production:Dec 2020~Jan 2021,March 2021,production will take extra 10-20 days than usual.(2 months before CNY holiday)

#Workshop closed:Feb 2021.(next month of CNY holiday)

Chinese new year is all about get reunion and share happiness with family and celebrate for the coming of a new chapter.Many workers left their home and travel a long long way to other provinces to earn their livings,the single journey takes 2-4 days average.

Since it is almost the only chance in a year for the workers to go back home,they will have longer holiday time than official to spend with family and friends,that is the reason why workshop will be closed during the month.

In March,workshop will re-open,the priority is to finish the production of backlog orders which placed in Jan~Feb 2021.

• How does it affect the shipment?

Shortage of shipping space and the Rising shipping cost.

Many buyers want the manufacturer to send out materials before CNY holiday,so Dec 2020 and Jan 2021 will be the most busy shipping time.Shipment demand gather together in these 2 months,which causes the shortage of shipping space and lead to Rising shipping cost.

This year,due to many countries productivity are influenced by COVID-19 so most of orders gathered to China,huge shortage of shipment space causes the shipment cost has raised 2-3 times.

• What should I do to get less affect?

Analyse your past sales data and make demand forecasting,confirm the demand with your customers and make purchase earlier.(It is easier said than done.Usually it ends up with asking the manufacturer "when will the production ready and why it takes so long time?":)

Although most of the time you are contacting with people in sales office but the workers are the person who produce the products for our business,we should be thankful and appreciate their efforts.
