How does ChatGPT affect the right side of your brain?

I asked ChatGPT a question, “Describe ChatGPT’s impact on the right side of the brain.” The answer is, “As an AI language model, ChatGPT does not have a direct impact on the right side of the brain.” That is exactly my point. As a creative, I have lived a life pursuing the joys of right-brain thinking. Many years ago, I read Betty Edward’s book, “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." It focuses on the creative process and how the right hemisphere is activated during the drawing process. ChatGPT, Midjourney, Dalle-2, and the like have thrown a wrench into my mindset.?
Like many folks, I have embraced having a digital mentor. It is very convenient and fast to approach a project and AI the heck out of it. What AI has done is make me really impatient. Most likely, you have experienced a delay trying to use ChatGPT. My whistling has improved, and my finger drumming skill is amazing. Patience is not my middle name. The fact is that ChatGPT is quite popular, it found one million users in the first week. It is the fastest-growing app in human history, with 100 million monthly users in two months. Holy guacamole!
Using Midjourney is a whole different artistic experience. Fast, cool, and fricken amazing. Using ChatGPT and Midjourney is a left-brain exercise that is used to be creative. There is a disconnect in that statement. In actuality, current research has proven that both sides work together. Using AI as we are, the frontal lobe (problem-solving) is where the juice is flowing. Using AI all starts with the prompt. But how do you come up with the idea for what you want to create??
AI can make you lazy, you can ask for the ideas that you want to expand. Continuing on that path our right brains are going to shrivel up like an old grape. They don’t teach cursive writing in school because it is irrelevant and slow. What it ignores is the connection between the right side of your brain with your writing/drawing hand. When you turn off technology, relax, and use your dexterity, your ideas will flow in a different direction. The result will be coming from a different source.

I challenge you to have an idea and approach it from two angles. Start with a premise. Walk away from your computer, turn on your favorite music, and pour yourself a cold one. In fact, turn your computer off. I know, I know, it’s hard to do that. Grab a pen and a sketchbook, to write or draw. Give it a try, and you will be surprised.?
Now it’s time to go to “the zone”. When you are in “the zone “you think differently. It can take some time to get there, but when you get there you know it. It happens when you play golf, strum a guitar, sing, dance, write, or make love, if you are lucky. Things just happen. In golf, it’s called, “unconscious confidence”. Same for hitting a baseball or making a jump shot. When you are in “the zone” it is a special place.?
The other way is to turn on your machine and ask for your content. What is missing is motivation. I’m not saying to ignore the amazing tools that are being presented to us but we should use them wisely. What gets lost in using AI is the connection with our thought process. I’m not saying that you will make junk using AI. You will make something different if you start the creative process using a sketchbook to start the ideation process.?
Whether you use the Betty Edwards method or just jump right into AI, the idea is to be prolific and productive so you have time to play more golf.
