How Does an Ant Eat an Elephant?
Many of us become anxious when facing problems that are large, looming, and seem downright insurmountable.? In the face of overwhelming issues, I have found the best way to overcome the anxiety is to face the problem head-on and begin working on a solution.
The first step is to identify the root cause of the problem you’re facing.? Then break down the problem into pieces small enough you feel you will be able to handle them.? If any step still seems too big, spend time breaking it down further.
Next, identify any resources you may need.? This includes tools, information, and yes, even people.? It’s never too late to ask for help!?
Dedicate time to the identification of any obstacles in the path to completing your goal. This is a great time to engage others; peers, leaders, anyone who can help remove the roadblocks.
After you have spent time making your plan, it’s time to execute!? Just remember to be agile and don't obsess over a flawless execution. Spend time reviewing and readjusting as you go along.
Once you've formulated and began executing your plan you may find that your anxiety begins to fade. Breaking down your problems into smaller pieces allows you to move toward a resolution and feel a sense of accomplishment along the way.
Most importantly, remember to celebrate your victories as well as learn from your setbacks.
So, how does an ant eat an elephant??One bite at a time!
