How do you work? Happy Labor Day!

My career, over the last two decades, has been about the way that we work. I used to own temp agencies. I was in staffing for about 15 years. Then, I created fashion a business that would allow women a flexible way to re-enter the work force. Next I began helping entrepreneurs with their start-ups. Currently I am developing the corporate sales channel at a women-led Denver-based startup. Then I added a leading a direct retail sales team, with a mission to change a giant industry, to what I do. Basically, I'm a startup team exec who builds organizations of people who are open to the idea of turning the idea of how we think and work upside down (read the Age of Unreason by Charles Handy).

Since the topic of work is dear to me, I wanted to take a moment on Labor Day to tell all of my Linkedin connections that I appreciate your support in the alternative choices that I have made in my own career. It means so much to me when people tell me that I've inspired them in some way to make changes to how they work. I get really passionate about what I do, and I LOVE mentoring other people to do the same.

I still feel that I am evolving and continuing to create a life that is focused on my WHY of personal freedom. This Labor Day, since I still haven't figured out how to use the barbecue (#singlemomlife), I'm going to spend some time reflecting on how to continue to make my work fit into my goals, my family and my life.
