Traditional policy and impact evaluation approaches fail to address today’s complex and dynamic challenges. So what should we do?

At the Centre for Public Impact, we’ve adopted a principles-focused approach to understanding and measuring our impact. This enables greater flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness to the evolving nature of our current systems.

Using this approach, we aim to cultivate systems change leadership among our partners, fostering a long-term, sustainable ripple effect through our principles of better governance:

• Think systematically, act locally
• Share power with those best placed to act
• Challenge unnecessary hierarchy and collaborate across boundaries
• Seek out strengths and build on them
• Champion the voices of those who are heard the least
• Optimise for learning rather than control
