What is Shopify Online Store 2.0?

Online Store 2.0 was announced along with other important updates to Shopify at a live event called Shopify Unite on June 29, 2021. The event introduced improvements and modifications to the e-commerce platform aimed at improving the shopping experience in Shopify stores.

1.?SHOPIFY SECTION EVERYWHERE

This is the best new feature! With Shopify's ubiquitous section, store owners will be able to easily add blocks and sections to any part of the website. In previous versions of Shopify, it was only possible to add sections to the home page. This means that you can now list all page sections, blog posts, group pages, custom pages, and much more.

Merchants can now add descriptive fields and properties, without having to worry about coding! This means that you can add content to a product page, while adding new space for additional information such as a size chart or ingredient list. 3. Website page speedup

One of Shopify's main goals is to improve loading speed and all Shopify 2.0 templates will be much easier to load now. For example, the checkout process now loads twice as fast as it used to be, even for older generation stores.

4. CHECKOUT UPGRADES

In Shopify 2.0, payment has undergone serious upgrades. It can now handle seven times the volume and can also be modified with extensions that allow new features to be combined into previously untouchable sections.

5. The Prebuilt 'Dawn' theme for Online Store 2.0

Dawn, the standard open source theme, is optimized for performance, versatility, and ease of use. The new default theme takes advantage of all the features of Online Store 2.0, including app blocks and sections.

The company says Dawn will replace Debut, which is the current default theme. Shopify has designed Dawn with speed as its main goal, and as a result, the new Dawn game will be 35% faster than first appearing.

The new standard Dawn theme, along with other features, will provide more freedom for theme developers to efficiently create new theme designs.
