How do you speak English so well...?
The Expat Woman
We are a global community of diverse and dynamic women focused on engaging, educating and empowering our network
When you move abroad, it’s almost a given that people will have preconceived notions about your country, culture, language, and lifestyle.
Some of them may be annoying as they stem from common misconceptions and stereotypes.
But I think I prefer when people ask me questions even if they sometimes weird, sometimes ridiculous, sometimes 'eye roll' then not show any curiosity about your culture, country. It shows they are interested in learning more about you and where you come from.
"How do you speak English so well but you have an accent?" is one of the questions I am often asked when people find out I am from India.
Do you want to know what the other ones are?
I put together a video and blog post on the?7 questions I get asked in the US because I am Indian.?
