How do you measure your wealth?

How do you measure your wealth?

Some people say that having good health is wealth. That is true. Some people measure wealth by the amount of money they have in the bank. Some measure wealth by the assets they own such as houses and fine jewelry. To others, they feel they have arrived when they attained the millionaire status. All said, these are worthy aspirations.

Today, may I suggest another way to look at your wealth today?

Your wealth, refers to the number of days you can survive…when your income stops coming in.

Take a quick minute now ... how many days can you survive when your active income stops? That is ... when your salary stops coming in.

And I mean when it stops, not if it stops. Frankly there will come a day when the active income will stop. Could be due to retirement or retrenchment. Or you simply just need to take a sabbatical to think over what you like to do for the next half of your life?

There are two ends to the equation - the inflow (income) and the outflow (expenses)…

You may like to start off by managing the easier one first which is expenses. There are multiple ways of managing expenses. Here are a few simple ones you can try such as automating savings, budgeting, looking for packaged deals from your regular service providers. Review your insurance plans with your financial advisers to look for alternatives that can cut your premium yet provide the same benefits.

If you have yet to read my ebook, I have provided some tips inside that you can use. Subscribe here and you'll receive my ebook on "The 5 Critical Steps to Financial Agility" at no cost.

Of course, there are the In-depth methodology that includes understanding your expense pattern and discerning your wealth personality. If you like to have an improved cashflow in your life, check out my website for more details here or LinkedIn message me.
