I'll be the first to admit that I was heavily skeptical of ChatGPT when it first made waves in the tech community. For a long time, I hesitated even to try it, let alone integrate it into my daily activities. My skepticism wasn't about the platform's capabilities, but rather the evident lack of human interaction and what I felt was a missing touch of human creativity and ingenuity.
Over time, however, my use of ChatGPT has grown and evolved such that it has now become an invaluable tool in various aspects of my daily work. I frequently use the tool for:
- Summarising complex information
- Generating content based on a framework I have defined
- Refining or restructuring content I have written
- Assisting me in learning and implementing new tools or skills
- Problem-solving
As with any tool, some amount of learning, tinkering, and a healthy amount of patience and common sense are needed to get the most out of it.
Over time I have developed a framework for myself in order to get the most out of every chat interaction. Based on my experience in the tool, I recommend the following techniques to make the most out of ChatGPT:
- Start with as much information as possible: I have found that the foundation of a good response lies in the initial details provided in your first question. For example, when writing marketing content for your organization, this could mean first providing a detailed background of your company, your services or offerings, before outlining your actual question. You may want to include your role within the company so that it knows the context from which you are outlining this question or task. It may be helpful to craft a library of chat "starters" tailored for frequently-used scenarios.
- Apply common sense: Like any software platform, ChatGPT is not immune to the principle of "Garbage in, garbage out." The quality of the response is dependant on the clarity and detail of your input.
- Details, Details, Details: Don't hesitate to provide in-depth context. The richer the details you provide, the more tailored and precise the response will be.
- Work the system: The first response will not always hit the mark. Request modifications, provide extra details, or point out errors to get the most out of the response. This is where human creativity comes into play: in being able to read between the lines, make intuitive iterations, and work with the system to find the best answer for your needs.
- Personalize the output: AI-generated content, with its structured perfection, is becoming easier to recognize. Humans are perceptive creatures and quickly recognize patterns that are unusually perfect. While perfection has its place, it's the nuances and unique voice in human writing that make content relatable. To keep content genuine, try personalizing the outputs by providing some sample text you have written and ask ChatGPT to rewrite the content while mirroring your style.
- Double-check: ChatGPT is not immune to making errors. Check the responses yourself, and don't blindly use the content, especially when dealing with niche subject matter. Always take the time to review and ensure the output aligns with your understanding.
- New topic, new chat: Maintain clarity by sticking to one topic per conversation. When shifting to a new arena of expertise, it's best to start a new chat, as all the content discussed in each chat will continue to be considered in the rest of the chat.
It should be noted of course that all of the points above are based on my personal experience. Quality queries in ChatGPT demand effort, patience and even a little finesse. It's easy to view the tool as a shortcut for quick answers or a way to get that 'boring article' done quickly, but superficial interactions lead to superficial results that are easily noticeable and will damage your content strategy.
Investing time to craft well-thought-out questions and reviewing responses ensures not just a boost in day-to-day productivity but also a marked improvement in productivity quality.
In conclusion, while ChatGPT is undeniably powerful, it's the user's expertise that truly harnesses its potential. The human touch remains irreplaceable, ensuring the content resonates authentically with its audience. Have you had experiences with ChatGPT or similar platforms? 1 年Thank you Julien Nunes Goncalves. Interesting. I have tried it out on a number of occasions and am often initially impressed by the output until I read it in more detail. Where I have found it useful is getting over the "writer's block". I've got something I need to write about but don't know where to start. ChatGPT can give me some ideas to get going.

1 年I also find the table and slide function very useful. Especially creating comparisons in tables works very well and fast. In addition try to tweak AI with the use of emotions and tone of voice, whether you are a native speaker or not. And avoiding slang or including slang. Furthermore, I found that various languages work very well, such as Dutch and Turkish. Better than Google Translate.
