One topic that seems to come up a lot is certifications...

I had a chance to talk to Mitch Russo today and he shared some common mistakes and small levers people can do when implementing a certification program. A few takeaways (I will publish the interview later)...


  • He reverse engineers ROI so he finds out how much someone will make in a year with the program and divides by about 5 so someone gets at least 5x value
  • He makes sure to feed leads to the people who buy the certification so they can focus more on the craft and the core team on doing the heavy lifting when it comes to selling.

Mitch Russo is known as the go to person to help companies build a certification program.



His Past clients and partners include Tony Robbins, Kevin Harrington, Chet Holmes, Josh Turner and many more.



In 1985, Mitch co-founded Timeslips Corp, which grew to become the largest time tracking Software Company in the world. In 1994, Timeslips was sold to Sage, plc. For over 10million dollars.   Mitch went on to run all of Sage U.S. as Chief Operating Officer, a division with 300 people 


 He partnered with Chet Holmes and Tony Robbins to help create Business Breakthroughs, Int'l, a company serving thousands of businesses a year with coaching, consulting and training services. Mitch was the President and CEO and they grew that company to over 25million dollars. 


 Mitch has published several books including “The Invisible Organization” which a CEO’s guide to transitioning a traditional brick and mortar company into a fully virtual organization and the book “Power Tribes – How Certification Can Explode Your Business.”
