How do you go when there is no more GO?
To be honest, I am not quite sure at the moment and I am hoping by the end of this I am able to figure it out.
When we tell our friends we are in need or hurting or unsure how to go on, we don’t always detail how desperate or maybe it is closer to say how in despair we are.?
We do not want people to know how close we are to breaking or maybe even that we are already broken, so we casually make mention and move on.
We don’t usually hear or understand how bad things were for others until they have somehow made it through or they completely lose it and it becomes too much to contain.
Instead, we give them words of encouragement. "You can do itâ€, “You’ll find a wayâ€, “We’ll keep you in our prayersâ€, “Good Luckâ€.
I was surprised the other day while talking to a Muslim friend of mine; he told me the people at his mosque were helping him financially to move out of a bad living situation he is currently in. It surprised me to hear that people he does not even know are pitching in to raise the money he needed to find a new place to live, I was even more surprised when he asked if he would be ok with me asking his community for money to help me also. He asked me, but in short he was telling me they would raise the funds for me and it was a sure thing. I told him no, but thanks for the offer.
I am not sure if it is pride or guilt, but for some reason I just do not feel comfortable asking his community for money. I keep thinking to myself how odd it is that a muslim community would even consider helping a christian man.
I did not start writing this to point out differences between faiths, but I cannot help but mention that someone did approach big churches they had attended in past years and asked for help for me and was told in short they do not financially help non members and that I should reach out to a local support group and also there was a list of Bible study groups online to choose from.
I get it, the church cannot help everyone with money problems.?
I’ll leave that there for now and get back to answering my own question; how do you go when there is no more go?
The answer for now is you get up, maybe after a nap or maybe after writing a letter, or maybe after falling asleep while writing a letter, but you get up. Then you get back on the job boards and find matches. While you do this, remember you are good at what you do and you just have to find a way to stand out in the crowd and then to show them how awesome you really are; “you can do itâ€.
I could use your help though; share this with your contacts please.
So, as you all know by now, I am unemployed; I am finding my go and I need help getting my resume in front of that person who will read through my recommendations and see my experience and my abilities.
To those of you who do not yet know me, my friends and work connections on this site are genuine; I’ve built many friendships while at work and all of them can verify what I can or what I cannot do.?
