How do you get the 80% to care?

How do you get the 80% to care?

My youngest brother set up a charity when he left school with two Peruvians working with Indigenous communities in the Andes of Peru to build schools & education programs.

Very inspiring, i'm incredibly proud of him & his TEDX talk & Meet My World project so brilliantly disruptive.

Instead of using the traditional charity fundraising tropes of showing suffering & encouraging pity “the fly in the eye” approach, 12 children taught US how to do things - the traditional “developed world teacher” & “developing world pupil” was flipped - donor & beneficiary balanced.

How did we feel? amazed, hopeful, educated & inspired to help, to donate, to make change.

Why?

because the content & lessons were relatable, joyful & innocent (cooking, building, eating, playing) rather than so distant & harrowing (war, famine, genocide etc)?

At THE HIDDEN 20% ?? through The Hidden 20% we want to join the ?? dots ?? for people that whilst not everyone is neurodivergent - everyone is touched by it; a family member, friend, colleague, our idols, music we love, films we watch, books we read, phones we use and even the beds we sleep in…

Highly relatable, universal & culturally relevant.

Yes there are horrific stats, yes there are horror stories but our aim is to share the hope, meaning & benefits of a world that accepts neurodivergence.

So here’s a list...?

You will know everything & everyone on it?

But you might not know the one common factor...

Neurodivergence.

The telephone, Mickey Mouse, electricity, Willy Wonka, the airplane, Apple, The Beatles, Microsoft, Einstein, Tesla, Picasso, Ford, Elvis, Virgin, Pokémon, Pixar, IKEA, Dyson, The Ugly Duckling, the parachute, the Mona Lisa, Spielberg, Mozart, Ali, Agatha Christie, Da Vinci, Darwin, Marie Curie, the Wright Brothers, Monroe, Warhol.

What brilliance, talent, creativity, nouse, resilience, impact

We wondered what life would be like without this list, without diversity…?

We worked with the brilliant Julian Harriman-Dickinson & his team at HarrimanSteel to start asking this question...

The result is a first series of posters dotted around London

[If you spot our posters around London please do share & thank you to the amazing Paper Trails Europe - street marketing & media agency ]

This is just the beginning

This is our way of turning the light on & showing society just how much we need diversity & how connected we all are to it

That's our way to change the mindset of the majority

We're two weeks in - there's much to do & some big stuff coming

Thank you so much for all your support & feedback!

Greta said it best...
