How do you dissipate tensions AND build trust?

There are two big dangers to teams in moving between online and offline working.?

One is that tensions increase ...

the other is that trust breaks down.?BUT

There are really effective ways of avoiding this happenning.?

The biggest mistake people make is to play the waiting game.?We acknowledge that remote working is hard and almost wait until there is opportunity to meet face to face.?But as this happens communications break down.?

So how do you turn it around??

Firstly, it is important to find a mode of communication that works.?Often things get lost in translation in emails and it can esalate tensions.?

Secondly, make sure that the communications are regular and consistent so that the conversation continues as opposed to being a hiatus.?

Finally, find a workable framework or agenda for those conversations that is light touch and covers both the practical and interpersonal issues that need to be addressed.?I use the temperature reading covering Appreciations, Puzzles, New Information, Complaints and Recommendations and WIshes Hopes and Dreams.?
