How do you design business process architecture?

Process architecture is like a play plan that can help you to win!

#Processarchitecture can be defined as a visual model and hierarchy of an company. Process architecture is an effective #business design that guides determiners and strategies. Normally three levels of the higher ones provide a visual and powerful #management tool. On the other hand, structural reformation in the processing #system occurs by the architecture design #process and is applied in areas like technology, software, business processes, and other processing systems with complexity.

Business processes with efficient functions are the only ways by which the company presents value to the customers and beneficiaries. Process architecture is not only a picture or model, but it is a daily contribution to the strategic and operational management for non-stop improvement and well-done service presenting to the customer.

?When designing a process architecture in company, I take the following steps:

1. First, I read the company #documents such as #strategy and #structure, #businessmodel, etc.

?2. I choose the reference model, like #APQC, #ETOM, #ITIL, #SCORE, etc. I often use APQC

3. I organize two groups, a group of senior managers and a group of middle and lower managers

4. For senior managers, I hold a seminar on business process management by focusing on the concept of process and process management and process levels.

5. At the end of seminar, I hold Structured workshop for senior managers to identify business process areas.

?6. For middle and lower managers, I hold a seminar on business process management, focusing on the concept of process and process management, and a bit of BPMN.

7. After that I hold Structured workshop for middle and lower managers to identify business processes. I design special form that help us to identify business processes and is filled by middle and lower managers.

8. I prepare process architecture draft with APQC-PCF and customize template. I categorize the processes and form a group and determine their position in business process area. In this step, I have in mind almost all the processes, groups, and areas expressed in APQC

9. Now I know about company and people know about BPM then we hold privet meeting with all of middle and lower managers one by one.

9.Next, I prepare process architecture version 0. In this step I conformance with APQC-PCF and customize template. Because of getting feedback I send process architecture version 0 to the company

10. I collect feedback and revise process architectural reviews.

11. I prepare version 1.0 of the process architecture and send it to the senior management team for approval and review

12. I will finalize version 1.0 after get feedback of senior managers.

13. This architecture is a status quo process that may change slightly during the modeling phase due to the details of each process. For example, a process can be broken down into two or more processes, or vice versa, two processes can be integrated together to a process.

We can Classification of the process to following:

1. Operating processes

These processes are the central core and value maker that besides, creating value-added, have got main share in the prosperity of the company. Foreign customers often are the beginning and the end of the processes that are executed pivotally in the company, like design and creating, selling, producing and building, assembling, loading, customer services, installing tools, presenting services, and so on.

2. Management process

Management process are processes that are responsible for guiding the tasks and leading human resources in achieving the goal of the company and all of the processes, and are the creator of the #database for controlling and #decision-making #management and evaluating the rate of system efficiency. This category of the process relies on the activity and company perspective, and it's got the role of leading and supporting, and monitoring on the other processes like planning the human resources, strategic #planning and budget process, assessment of the company and management accounting and allocating the design resources of the company.

3. Support processes

These processes are not value makers directly; however, they are needed to support the main processes. Moreover, they will make data and information or will cause the regularizing the execution method, like #financial affairs, accounting, supplier management, #technology management, mending, and maintaining and calibration.

I use three process levels in process architecture. What are the process levels?

Each hierarchy process has been defined by levels and information. The process model is divided into 3 levels.

1. Business areas (domain process).

Is part of the company operation that can be at the highest level and may indicate the relations with the various operations of the processes in the biggest mode. Each business area is composed of two or some groups of processes.

2. Process group

Process groups are the ones that belong to the responsibility domain with the tasks and similar activities based on scientific or other grounds. Each process group has been composed of two or more processes.

3. Process

The business process is the level that connects the meaningful and comprehensive steps of the business to the unit. Equally important, it implies that stages or existing functions are necessary to do the relevant work with the business model. Business processes are defined by the stages that transform the input into the rich output. Definitions and concepts of the process will be explained in other post.?

I have a number of questions: 1. Current documentation. How relevant are they? How long will it take you to read through them? What if there are missing documents? 2. Frameworks: How long will it take a person to study all the intrecacies of the frameworks you mention? What criteria do you suggest they use to help them choose the most efficient one? 2.1. APOQ is the world's foremost authority in benchmarking, best practices, process and performance improvement. Benchmarking is a time consuming effort & best practices are falsely self-perpetuating & subjective. 2.2. ETOM is an operating model framework for telecom service providers in the telecommunications industry. The model describes the required business processes of service providers and defines key elements and how they should interact. It is limited to telecommunications 2.3. ITIL is a set of detailed practices for IT activities such as IT service management and IT asset management that focus on aligning IT services with the needs of the business. Aligning IT with business is the stumbling block 2.4. SKORE is basically a documentation tool used to document Processes Process architecture should never be used as the starting point to help management make better decisions!
