Answer: There is a place to go when you feel down. In other words, "seek first the kingdom, the consciousness, of God and then goodness, the absence of feeling down, will follow". To God there is no feeling down and so when you attain the consciousness of God, you then experience the peace of God. But how do you attain that consciousness of God?
A good place to start is with Emmett Fox's Golden Key "stop thinking about feeling down and think about God instead". This utilizes the principle of contemplative meditation in which you contemplate and ponder the nature of God, the word of God, the allness of this Presence, the infinity of this Something, and the omnipotence, the omnipresence, and the Life of God. Then at some point there are no competing thoughts and this is where you stop thinking and meditate by maintaining a receptive listening attitude. Now Something comes over you and the Truth you have been pondering takes over and lives your life in the same way that the thoughts of your ego-self had lived your life.
The absence of God in your life perpetuates your human ego-self belief in the presence and power of feeling down. God does not heal your feeling down because in the entire kingdom of God there is no such thing as feeling down. Feeling down is man-created and is perpetuated by the false belief that there is a power other than the power of God. But because of your knowing the Truth that God is omnipotent, you are now free from feeling down and you can now share that freedom with others who feel like you did.
