How Do You Come Up With Email Content Every Day?

I was on a weekly Mindset coaching call yesterday, and someone on the call said he was having a hard time getting started writing emails to his list. He said, "I just don't know what to write about."
If you've been around me for any amount of time, you've heard me mention the "Five Sources of Power" found in every business. The very first 'source of power' is your List and the Relationship you have with that list.
YOU are on MY list. And, if you notice, I write to you every week day.
In a world full of distractions, multiple media, and lots of other people doing what we do, it's important to be in front of your ideal prospects and customers on a regular basis.
I email at least once a day; sometimes twice for people who haven't opened my email yet. I know marketers who email their list 4-6 times a day and do it successfully.
But, what do we actually write about?
How do we come up with content?
On the call yesterday, I shared several strategies I use with the man struggling to come up with what to say to his list. In case you're having a tough time coming up with things to share with our list, here's a few I mentioned on the call:
- I get ideas from people who send me emails.
- I get ideas from magazine articles I read or videos I watch.
- I get ideas from TV shows I watch.
- I get ideas from recent conversations I've had (like the one I mentioned above).
- I get ideas from my pets, my son, my friends, and my family's adventures.
- I get ideas from comments people leave on social media posts.
And, the list goes on and on.
If you're struggling on what to say to your list to maintain that relationship with them, you're not paying attention to what's going on in the world around you.
If you're really struggling, send out a survey to your list and ask them what they would like to hear more about.
The most important thing here is, you have to communicate with your list on a regular and consistent basis. It's about the relationship with the list; not the number of names and email addresses you have with them.
Writing every day - or - at least writing every week, keeps you fresh in their minds, so when they are ready to do business with you, you are their first thought of where to go.
Take care of those who have 'raised their hands' indicating interest in you. They did that for a reason. Don't let them down. Stay in touch and it will be profitable for both you and the people receiving your message.
