The recent devastation caused by #HurricaneHelene reminds us just how important healthy soil and well-functioning ecosystems are for maintaining the health of the large and small water cycles as well as the health and safety of our planet and it's inhabitants. Regenerative agriculture is our ticket to rebuilding these vital systems and bringing true function and resilience back to our landscapes. While no farm can escape the extent of extreme weather like Helene, the way we care for our land can make a huge difference in our resilience (just 1% increase of soil organic matter means one acre of land can hold 20k more gallons of water). By better understanding our natural systems that we depend on, we can work with nature to not just survive, but to thrive. Regenerative agriculture helps keep soil covered with plants, reducing massive heat islands that increase temperatures and put more water vapor into our atmosphere. This can lessen storm strength, and bring more water back into our land and hold it in soil where it belongs. Regenerative farming is all about creating positive feedback loops, which brings healing and hope for our future. Together, we can cultivate a brighter, more resilient future! ???? In September, we teamed up with Terrain to host the Anthropologie x Terrain Spooky Terrarium Workshops in stores across the country. Attendees enjoyed a hands-on experience, crafting their own terrariums with guidance from Terrain experts, who also shared insights into regenerative agriculture. Even better? 100% of ticket proceeds went to support Kiss The Ground, a non-profit helping to cultivate change through responsible practices.
