How Do You Choose To Grow?

How Do You Choose To Grow?

What are different ways in which you break the cycle (Read my previous post regarding the cycle hampering your breakthrough)??Just post my retirement from the military I had started to doubt myself, certain things did not turn my way. That’s when I picked up books again to seek answers and took to personal development.??I came across this beautiful concept of ‘Satori’ and ‘Kenso’. The words originated from Zen Buddhist.?It means you evolve and grow in life either via ‘Kenso’, which is insights and lessons, learnt after a pain/struggle/failure or through stable insights and enlightenment called ‘Satori’. The question is how do you choose to grow in life? There are no two ways that life has both ups and downs. No two days are the same.?But it is not a good idea to always make mistakes to learn and evolve. Life is for a limited time and we need to get better at developing a consciousness that will equip you to go through life without much overwhelm from human emotions emerging from difficult situations and interactions from other human beings. This stage will help us reach our highest potential and fulfill our purpose in life. ?A deep dive into the topic will introduce you to methods more than just to meditate to enter the state of ‘Satori’. Let me reveal to you the concept of ‘Samadhi’, which our own Patanjali’s yoga sutra describes so beautifully (although it is a huge concept, I have simplified it to prevent any further cognitive overwhelm). One must follow these steps to reach this beautiful level where you are able to engage with the physical world from a state of higher consciousness. There is 8-pronged method to minimize ‘Kenso’ and enhance ‘Satori’ aka ‘Samadhi’: -

Yamas - Five social observances: ahimsa (non-violence), satya (truthfulness) asteya (non-stealing), brahmacharya (chastity) and aparigraha (non-possessiveness)

Niyamas - Five moral observances: saucha (purity), santosha (contentment), tapas (self-discipline), svadhyaya (self-study), ishvarapranidhana (devotion or surrender)

Asana - Yoga postures

Pranayama - Breathing techniques as a means of controlling prana (vital life force energy)

Pratyahara - Withdrawal of the senses

Dharana - Concentration

Dhyana - Meditation

Samadhi - Enlightenment or bliss

Ps: Do not overlook and dismiss the idea as being spiritual and something, which you can postpone to your 60s because if you dare postpone personal development you come across ‘Kenso’ moments, which can prove to be not so desirable in the long run.

Kindly connect/comment if you have more insights to share on this concept.
