How do you change the world?

? Here’s what I think:

I used to get overwhelmed, jaded, and cynical towards making a positive difference in the WORLD. What could I, as an individual, possibly do? There are so many ills and pains in the world. Where would I even start? 

Well for a long time, I gave up on my passion to change the world for the better. It’s easy to give up. But the reality is, things will just continue on getting worse until we as INDIVIDUALS decide to take action. And your FAMILY is the best place to start.

?? So that's what I did. I’ve learned the answer is to go home and love your family. Build delicious relationships with your parents, siblings, kids. Once I did this, it restored my empathy and love for humanity, and made me feel powerful enough to take on the next step: making a difference in my community. Now, I am committed to protecting young people and children who are victimized and exploited through Human Sex Trafficking and building awareness of the issue as it affects my professional community. And every bit of awareness is a step in the right direction.

? Go home and try it yourself! Build a loving family environment. You can then open your eyes to what’s around you, feel inspired, and create a project to work on to improve a community you’re a part of.

? And that’s all there is to it. Why is this important? Because the WORLD is made up of COMMUNITIES - your family is a community, your friends make up a community, your workplace, your gym, your church, etc. So if you want to change the world, start with loving your family. As Rumi wisely said: “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.”
