How do you become a Top Voice?
LinkedIn has introduced multiple 'Top Voice' accolades for contributors of the new collaborative articles. The collaborative articles cover many topics across all industries and can reflect industry knowledge and skills.
To gain a 'Top Voice' badge for a certain skill you must contribute to several of these collaborative articles and have your answers 'liked' by other LinkedIn users. LinkedIn promotes the articles through relevant users feeds of similar interests to the article topic. For example: if you follow the hashtag #logistics you will more likely to be shown articles on the topics of logistics. Once you obtain a top voice badge it will be highlighted within the header of your profile as shown below.
The more 'likes' received the quicker you will be recognised and awarded a top voice accolade for this skill. The top voice accolade only lasts for 60 days so to keep the awarded badge on your profile you will need to regularly contribute to articles and have your contributions 'liked'.
Can you be awarded more than one?
Yes, if you contribute to several articles across several different skills you may receive more than one top voice accolade. If you do achieve multiple top voice awards you can choose which one you would like to be highlighted within the header of your profile.
How do I change the top voice shown?
Changing the highlighted top voice award on your profile is extremely simple. Just click on the pencil at the top right corner of your profile to edit your information. Then scroll through to 'Community Top Voice Badge' and click the drop down menu. This will let you select the one you would like highlighted on your profile.
The other skills will remain visible within the Skills section of your LinkedIn profile and your contacts can still endorse you for these skills.
How do I find collaborative articles?
You can view all the collaborative articles available here:
I would suggest you scroll through and view and contribute to the the ones applicable to your industry and skills set. You may also receive an invitation to contribute to an article if you have a particularly high skill set with your industry. The articles topics are generated by AI so some of the topics can be a bit random or vague.
I hope this has been of interest!
