The American Ministry of Defence had a problem at the end of the Second World War..
Many ships and aircraft remained that had been used for the war in Europe.
They were no longer necessary, but had to be kept in tip top condition.
Thus, a method was sought to preserve these valuable resources.
The result was the development of the Cocoon Mothballing System, with which the ships and aircraft were literally placed ‘in mothballs’.
This system created a hermetically sealed ‘cocoon’ around the materials, with a conditioned climate inside that prevented rust, mould and drying-out.

Through this experience, the Cocoon coating developed a deserved reputation as a product which conforms to the highest expectations.
