How do we get out of the roundabout?

How do we get out of the roundabout?

From balance to imbalance – A reflection on the future we are creating

I am not politically engaged. I am not looking to shake up systems for the sake of shaking them up. It’s not the intentions of politicians that grab my attention, but the people, especially the children we are leaving behind in this world. And hey, some of us will also be around to experience some really bad shit, cause everything happens so quickly now. I care deeply about how we can build a society that is sustainable, just, and in harmony with our deepest human values. We are beings of energy and vibration. We can no longer afford to separate body from soul. When we do, we are in the process of dissolving ourselves. No I am definitely not talking about religion, on the contrary, I even think religion might be a huge barrier that we need to get rid of. Faith in that kind of a way is personal, not something anyone can bring upon others. No one owns the whole truth, we might only hold a tiny part of it in our own hands. How we perceive things are through our own brain, our understanding, culture and belief systems. Your brain is both a sender and transceiver, all coloured by your life′s experiences and how you have been programmed.

So what is at stake here? André Mundal wrote in a post about using our voices and our slow adaptation to change: I seriousely believe Norwegians are too slow, we take too long to shift gears, and as Marit Imeland Gjesme says: "we need to stop thinking we’re the best at everything.” In a world evolving faster than ever, we are at risk of being left behind. Not just in relation to other countries, but in relation to our own sustainability.

It’s not just about Norway or even Scandinavia; it’s about a global society that needs to evolve in line with the challenges we are facing. As Ingrid Strümke very often points out, this is a systemic issue. We have created systems that are controlled and overly complex, despite being designed for structure. We are stuck in roundabouts of rules and unnecessary bureaucracy that force us into compromises rather than solutions. Just like with the Law of Jante, which was intended as a principle for equality and fairness, our systems have evolved into barriers that prevent us from trusting the best in ourselves.

The urgency for change

Here lies my biggest concern, yes I know some of you only will brush the next of as something to simple, but we have lost much of our belief in ourselves as beings of light ?. We have become so accustomed to allowing fear ?? to lead us, that we’ve forgotten that fear and faith are two sides of the same coin. Both require the same of us, a commitment to believing in something we cannot see.

But there is hope. It begins with balance ??. Both in society and within ourselves. We all have immense potential in the feminine and masculine values that reside in each of us, and it’s high time they came more into balance. Not only for society as a whole, but for each of us individually. As a coach and mentor, this has always been the cornerstone of my work: helping people find this balance, for it is the key to true progress. When we allow both masculine and feminine qualities to coexist equally, we create a more holistic and sustainable life.

Energy and balance

How can we allow both to come into balance? What can we do to create a world ?? that is more just, inclusive, and sustainable? I believe the answer lies in the fact that we must stop viewing ourselves as separate from our energy and our life force. We are not just bodies; we are souls, we are light, we are love ??. And all of this is energy that is interconnected – we are all interconnected.

I have seen how the feminine energy, which is about empathy, wholeness, and wisdom, needs to be given more space in a world that has for many years been driven by masculine energy – which has been more results-oriented, analytical, and control-based. We need both, but we must find a balance between them to ensure that progress moves in the right direction, not just for us as individuals, but for the entire planet ??.

Fear vs. Faith

As we see, those who have the greatest adaptability fare the best in a world of constant change. This is ancient wisdom??, wisdom that has been shared by philosophers and leaders throughout time. Why do we make the same mistakesover and over again? Perhaps it’s because of our fear of the unknown, or maybe it’s because of our need for control. We are too afraid to trust ourselves, our intuition, and the light that we all carry within us.

Practical pathways for change

For me, it’s high time that we rise up – not just for Scandinavia, but for the whole world ??. We must understand that we are part of something much bigger, and we have only one planet ?? to care for. If we continue to stand still, we will dissolve. If we don’t take responsibility, we will never experience the truest form of success. This is our call: to stand together in love, in light, and in faith that we can create a better future.

I may not have the formal education or deep knowledge to understand every nuance of the system, but the results are clear: we are doing something wrong. What I do know, though, is that we are at a critical turning point. We are stuck in a roundabout of conformity, unable to see past the current framework that has kept us on a repetitive loop for too long. And I’m grateful to witness the rise of awarenessordinary people waking up, opening their eyes to the matrix we’ve been caught in for so long. ????

The Crux of the Issue

Our systems were designed to serve industrialization, making sure society remained productive. We’ve worked like ants for centuries, but is this still the most efficient way to run things? The world has changed—our systems need to catch up. Powerful leaders of the old days may have benefitted from the current order, and many may see this as the only way to feel safe in the world. But here’s the truth: those old systems are crumbling. We are on the brink of a reset. Polarization is growing, and demagogues are seizing the stage to feed the public poison—making us believe that danger lurks at every corner. This needs to stop. ??

The crux of the issue? We’ve failed to find balance – not just in the world, but within ourselves. For too long, we’ve operated based on outdated masculine valuescontrol, competition, fear – and neglected the feminine values of intuition, collaboration, and nurturing. Both are needed for progress and growth. Until we restore this balance, we cannot evolve. The path forward requires us to honor our whole beingmind, body, and soul – because we are interconnected. We need to move beyond the systems that divide and conquer us and create something new, something aligned with our true nature. ???

This is bigger than politics, bigger than any one country. It’s about our collective future – the children we’re leaving behind and the world we’re building for them. Change will only come when we stop acting as if we are powerless and realize that we hold the key to transformation.

I really love learning and getting to know people here on LinkedIn. I believe that most of us fundamentally want the same thing, a better, more balanced world. However, we are more often caught up in micro-working and addressing symptoms rather than tackling the root causes of the systemic imbalance that holds us back. We engage in daily tasks, get worked up on details, trying to fix immediate issues, but we often miss the larger picture, the deep-seated structures and beliefs that perpetuate inequality, fear, and division. Instead of focusing on patching up the surface, it is time for us to shift our approach and tackle the core issues that prevent true balance and progress in society. We all have the potential to make a massive impact, but we need to unite and work on creating a system that servers humanity as a whole, rather than merely addressing the symptoms of a broken one.

It’s time to get out of the roundabout of fear and start embracing the change we so desperately need. The question is: are we ready? ??

I do my share, by learning more about myself, keeping the door open, so that I can get new input and knowledge along the way. I′ll do my share, helping people to reach fare within themselves to find the courage and their innate strength to do their part. How about you?

Beautiful reflections as well as beautifully written Merete Stangeland . We need more of the Asian Yin-Yang mindset; complementary fulfillment and balance. Norway also lacks a decent dose of humility in my view.
