How do we address challenges more effectively and for greater success?

That’s a question Make a Change are asking Buloke residents to explore in their upcoming Expand Your Impact FREE online workshops starting August 10 and 11.

“These workshops are an invitation to think a little differently to make goals happen - no matter how big or small, in any area of life!” says program organiser Karen Corr of Make a Change.

Delivered over a series of six weeks, topics cover six essential elements for growth and success:

? Vision: Discovering and rediscovering ‘what lights you up?’

? Projects: Giving thoughts and ideas the structure to ‘make them happen’

? Story: Creating your compelling narrative – to ‘engage others’

? Team: Building networks, growing communities and enlisting ‘support’

? People: Working together effectively for ‘greater outcomes’

? Digital Tools: Navigating the world online with ‘impact’

The registrations to date have been extremely positive with about 50 rsvp’s so far.

This includes people from a range of backgrounds and interest areas: interested individuals who are looking for a change, health workers, community leaders, people from neighbourhood houses and progress associations, service clubs, Landcare groups, historical societies, tourism and event initiatives, businesses looking to grow and more.

“We’ve been out and about chatting to lots of locals about this opportunity and we’re thrilled with this interest. It’s inspiring to see so many people open to learning and looking at new ways of doing things to achieve their aspirations,” says Karen

“It’s terrific to see representation from across the towns as well, including: Charlton, Nullawil, Culgoa, Sea Lake, Donald, Wycheproof and Birchip. This provides a wonderful opportunity to bounce ideas and challenge perspectives – plus huge potential to forge new collaborations and innovative solutions!”

Tahlijia Sheahon and Neil Cossar both from Charlton are attending the workshops. Tahlijia has recently taken on the role of President of the new Charlton Campdraft Club and is looking at how she can create strong foundations in this start-up phase. Neil is part of the Charlton Lions Club which has been in operation for many years. He’s thinking about the future of the club and how to involve more people.

The next workshops start August 10 and 11, with two options available:

? Wednesdays 4pm – 5.30pm, six weekly sessions, 10 Aug – 14 Sept

? Thursdays 10.30am – 12noon, six weekly sessions, 11 Aug – 15 Sept

Participants can join both series online via their own computer, or for the Thursday sessions, make use of the computer facilities and technical support at the following locations:

? Wycheproof Community Resource Centre, 280 Broadway, Wycheproof

? Charlton Neighbourhood House, 30-34 High Street (Inside Rex Theatre), Charlton
