How Do I Manage Stress During Internship at Bank Indonesia

  • Set Priorities and Create Project Timeline

During my internship, I faced various tasks and tight deadlines, which prompted me to learn to set priorities and manage my time more effectively. I started making daily and weekly to-do lists, marking the most urgent and important tasks. In addition, I created a structured project timeline for each project I worked on. This project timeline breaks down large projects into small, measurable tasks, allowing me to track how far the project has come, what has been completed, and what still needs to be done. This approach provides a clear picture and helps reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed as each step is well planned.

  • Adapt and Collaborate in a Dynamic Work Environment

Working in a dynamic environment is challenging, which is why it is important to adapt and not be shy to ask questions to your fellow interns, staff, and mentors. I do not hesitate to ask questions or ask for help when facing difficulties. Discussions with fellow interns also provide new perspectives and make me feel less alone in facing challenges.

How Do I Achieve Work-Life Balance During Internship at Bank Indonesia

  • Set Clear Boundaries

During my internship, I had a structured work schedule from 8.30am to 5.30pm, and I made every effort to complete all work tasks at work. When I got home, I focused entirely on family time as well as enjoying hobbies such as watching movies and playing games. Not only does this approach help me avoid bringing stressful work home, but it also improves my overall quality of life by allowing time for relaxation and recreation.

  • Exercise regularly

As someone who spends most of the time in the office, glued in front of a laptop screen for 8-9 hours a day, I realize the importance of maintaining balance with physical activity. Bank Indonesia facilitates its employees by providing a shared gym and workout space, which makes it easy for me to carry out my exercise routine. Doing exercise at least twice a week, such as jogging and body workouts, not only helps keep me in shape but also provides an opportunity to relieve stress and boost energy.

By implementing those strategies, work stress can be better managed, and work-life balance can be achieved, thereby improving overall well-being and productivity.
