How do I know if third-party cookies are disabled?

I'm sure we've all heard about Google's latest update regarding third-party cookies. If not, Google is finally phasing out third-party cookies after years of saying they would. As of right now, Google Chrome has phased out about one percent of users. This may seem insignificant, but one percent estimates to about 30 million users. How do you know if third-party cookies are disabled?

  • If you're part of the test, you'd have received a notification when opening Chrome on desktop or Android.
  • You can look in your Google Chrome settings to see if Tracking Protection is toggled on. If yes, then you're browsing in a cookieless search engine.
  • No notification? You're likely in the 99% with cookies still intact (for now!).

Either way, this is just the beginning of the cookie countdown! Stay tuned for more updates as Google rolls out the changes throughout 2024.
