How To Do Handstand in 5 easy steps.
Have you ever wondered how the world looks from upside down? Well, I am not talking about Stranger things. It’s about Handstand, you can also experience the thrill of the upside-down world with a handstand. So How to do Handstand?
We all know this is so cool and one more handstand benefit is that we are not gonna use any equipment so you can practice it in your room.
Once you have unlocked the handstand you are gonna be unlock thee insane upper body strength, balance, and body control. Also, you will be able to do advanced exercises like Handstand pushups, one arm handstand, and 90degree handstand pushup.
There are mainly 3 components you are gonna need to master a handstand and these are:
- Upper body strength
- Form
- balance
You are gonna need a good upper body to hold the whole weight of your body on your shoulders. That’s why the strength of your shoulders is very important.
If you are not developed the proper upper body strength then you are gonna struggle to hold the position of your handstand. So our first step will be this.
Step 1: Develop Upper-Body Strength
So now you are aware that upper body strength is so important to do a proper handstand so we are going to develop the shoulder strength. The very first step is doing a Pike hold.
Pike Hold Position
To make a Pike Hold Position. Start by making a push-up position on the ground then walk all the way up till you are in a complete pike.
You have to be in a straight line from your hips to your feet and as well as from your hips to your hands. By doing this you are gonna put a good amount of your upper body weight on your shoulders.
After this step, you are going to do the ELEVATE Pike Hold Position.
Step 2: Developing a Correct Form
For doing a perfect handstand, the correct form is as important as the strength. So to develop a current form we are going to do some exercise and the first exercise is:
Handstand Kick Ups
We are going to learn this, so we are gonna start by a push-up position with your head towards the wall. Bring your one leg up by doing this you will come in a runner start position.
Now we are using the leg to do a kick up, remember that the one leg that you brought up will be icing off and the second leg will remain straight.
Your body needs to be stacked and your fingers are apart to maintain a balance. Make sure that your head and your shoulder will be slightly in front of your hands.
This will help you to maintain a balance else you are gonna kick up and you are gonna come right back down.
You have to choose a spot on the floor and you are going to look on that single spot in the whole exercise.
The spot should be in such a manner that the spot and your hands will make a triangle. This will help you to maintain a balance.
You have to go up slowly, you don’t just have to through yourself up and hit on the wall. You have to do it slowly.
Once you are able to do Handstand kick-ups with a perfect form and you are giving the perfect amount of effort to fall that handstand then you are ready to move forward to step 3.
Step 3: Practicing Balance
Now we are going to practice our handstand for the first time. So the exercise we are going to practice is:
Handstand Finger Press
When you doing a handstand and your feet are on the top then you are gonna either going to forward or backward. This exercise is gonna show how to push your body backward.
