The answer is....EASY!!! Here at Excel TM Group we pride ourselves on thinking outside the box by promoting our services in more unique ways and down spontaneous avenues that others wouldn't necessarily think about!
Lead Generation is very important to every business and in most cases, this is the most lucrative way to increase sales revenue and ultimately build your business rapport.
Picking up the phone is all well and good but each call is only receptive to the one person you are calling….so how do you hit a target audience all at once??? (Please do not say a generic email shot).
I have found that being yourself and attending events is the most influential way of doing business and you will be surprised how many leads are generated OUTSIDE your natural environment.
For instance, the past few months I have found myself speaking to people who have all sorts of connections across the UK in other industries and I have noticed that I have gained more new business leads by being natural and just socialising and listening to other people’s success stories, after all they do say “people buy from other people”.
I met up with Tiny Tim the comedian from Manchester in recent weeks and it was refreshing to hear his story on how he came to fame. After listening to his story and actually taking an interest he then asked what I had been up to recently which opened other channels of conversation and we found that we knew similar people in each other's industry which evidentially lead to passing on leads for each other to follow up.
Same with Former IBF Bantamweight World Champion Paul Butler who has a lot of connections in the construction industry and therefore I thought why not help promote him and vice versa? After all, sharing connections helps grow both parties portfolios in one way or another so people should be doing this on a daily basis to extend their catalogue so that they have different avenues to pursue.
I don't know about you but I am bombarded on a daily basis with InMail's on LinkedIn that have no significance to what we do as a company and it is transparent that NO time has been allocated to research ??
......DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT WE DO????
I believe the “personal touch” is the most important thing in business and before approaching a new prospect you should do your research and find out….WHAT IT IS THAT THEY DO AND WHERE DO WE FIT IN!!!
As they say “People buy from People” so you should put the time and effort in to finding out what your potential customer requires before going in all guns blazing.
The classic phrase “COLD CALLING” is widely discredited for exactly this reason and wouldn’t really be an issue if people knew their target audience before picking up the phone.
We have had a rough 2020 (due to COVID restrictions) where people have been limited to go out and meet people face to face as often as they would like, either this being face to face meetings, seminars or construction events like FutureBuild, UK Construction week, The UK Concrete Show etc. Hopefully things will improve dramatically and promptly so we can all get out the office and hit the ground running again and make 2021 a better year for construction.
However, this hasn’t held us back in 2020 as we have grown as a business having three office moves, brought on new account managers, sales graduates and are now averaging 180 days of telemarketing a month. This is an amazing accomplishment when you think we were only averaging 32 days back in July this year so this has significantly grown due to our drive and persistence to succeed within our sector.
Success isn’t built overnight, it comes with hard work and determination and that is what Excel TM Group represent. We work with a range of contractors, suppliers, manufacturers and installation companies across the UK and have built very reputable relationships with some of the biggest corporations out there.
We also have a new business launching in the last quarter that will blow all competitors out the market and will help every single person within the construction industry get their services and products recognised and it is going to make everyone’s job so much easier so…WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
This new enterprise will completely reform the industry on how people find new leads, tender for projects, find new suppliers etc. Very exciting times lie ahead, trust me.
