?? How did we use generative AI in 2023?
Issue #285
I’m not sure if it is scary or reassuring that ChatGPT is getting lazy. The more human the AI, the more good and bad it could be as it gets smarter. And in 2024 one prediction is a no-brainer, the AI’s will evolve. Happy Thursday, Simon.

How are CMOs using GenAI today?
A recent report has tried to determine what CMOs think of generative AI and its use in their sector. Generally, most are optimistic about the technology and confident in using it. In fact, 70% are already using it for core marketing functions. The top three are personalisation (67%), content creation (49%) and market segmentation (41%). In terms of implementation, they recommend experimenting first, find significant productivity gains, implement an enterprise model and finally, train everyone on the software.
AI and journalism content
Despite fears generative AI would replace the traditional journalist, the hack’s position appears safe for another year. AI will change the way this content is consumed though. We’ll still need articles and reporting, but what the consumer sees will be decided by AI. As well as article summaries for search results the results themselves will be remixed to match a user’s interests. Essentially, you’re getting the most personally relevant part of each article delivered to you. Articles themselves could become as invisible as CSS code.

Is generative AI getting lazy?
It turns out the leader of GenAI technology, ChatGPT, might have learnt a little too much from humans. Reportedly, the chatbot has become lazy, in some cases telling users to solve their own problems. OpenAI has acknowledged the issue claiming the tech can be unpredictable. 2024 should be interesting.?
