How did we get here?

How did we get here?

How did we get here? Here is some lights on how taxpayers’ money skidded through 1MDB.

I’m sure most of us contributing to nation building with prompt tax payment hoping the money is well used for good purpose only to see the series of scandals reveal the very people whom we trust, betray us, cheat us and steal from us. It is disheartening to see how the top leaders of this nation conspired to loot and waste the money in corrupt practices.

??As teenager, I was so proud to talk abt how integrated muti-racial community and just like everyone else Muthu, Ali, Chong are all my family members. So much so the politicians started to play the racial cards trying to tear the harmony we had all enjoyed for very long only for their survival.

??As a young professional, I was so proud to talk abt how modern our country is with the likes of Twin Tower and sky crappers. And how well the nation prospers for the progress of all its citizen. So much so there are scandal everywhere we turn…the TRX building symbolize, as if telling you guys are fooled.. (yes every time I make a turn in the road, this building remind me that we are all fooled/doomed by the politicians)

??Now as a working adult at my 40’s, i feel so shameful to realize how my beloved nation image is so retarded in media and courts all over the world. Consider below on how the corrupt leaders and their wives treated this county like their own ATM cash machine through 1MBD and many more scandals.

Consider the facts below:-

1.?????USD 250K approx. MYR 1 mill to Leonardo Decaprio. This is equivalent to yearly rental of more 300 old parents/single mom with kids paying small flat at MYR 300/mth. Their tears could be wiped if the so-called leaders had the sanity of their mind.

2.?????Bar tab to secure celebrity of whopping USD 385K approx. MYR 1.6 mill. This equivalent to paying off college fee and all the expenses for more than 100 students of art subjects of MYR 16K per year. ?Their helpless hand would have been reached if our leaders were actually had any senses.

3.?????It is so disgusting that the CEOs that paid millions a year, with greed to the level beyond not comprehendible to share the loot by buying a bungalow worth MYR 41.8 million (former CEO of Astro Malaysia- The star). The sum culd buy low cost flat for more them 800 families without any home. That’s so insane..

4.?????One day party at Las Vegas…..of Malaysian tax payers money of whopping sum of USD 3.6 mill, MYR 15 million which can provide for annual school expenditure such as bus trips, stationary, dress, ?books, meals etc for over 8000 students.

5.?????Total of USD USD 400K for Paris Hilton, Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian , MYR 1.7 million can buy annual grocery for more than 4000 B40 families very year.

6.?????Women procurement of USD 5000 per pax, the list goes on and on.

7.?????Finally, a total of USD 6.5 billion Goldman raised for 1MDB was diverted as government officials, bankers and their associates through bribes and kickbacks (malaymail 25th Feb 2022). This is super whopping sum of MYR 27.4 billion which can pay salary to 780,000 fresh graduates (MYR 35K/annum) per annum. That’s huge! And in fact solve unemployment problem of our country for 2022. (5% unemployment of 16.3 mill workforce). .

I can’t imagine the wildness of our leaders; and is this what we call Amanah?

Taxpayers’ money are used to pay these leaders whopping salary (compared to common people), with hefty allowances, lifetime pension scheme, directorship curtained with cronyism that cost millions a year to the nation. Yet they get so greedy to loot mountain of our money, just to live a short life in this worldly space.

This is not only the betrayal to the nation, But also betrayal to humanity, mankind, religion and most important to the TRUST.

If we do nothing abt it, it means we agree with this. There is no moral books/saints can undo the long lasting impact and there no ground to talk abt virtues & values to the future generation of ours. ?This is our nation, and it is us who will define the destiny. Let us stand in solidarity against, corrupt ppl and let the reign of corrupt leaders and corrupt culture ends and be buried forever!

I felt so disappointed with these whole bunch of “leaders/politicians” who are supposed to be elite, educated, and trustworthy … This is probably the tip of iceberg among many that we could not see. The biggest curse for this nation is our shameless politicians who live in the charity of its people and yet greedy enough to even trade our nation to satisfy their greed.

And yet more concerning part is some or even many of us seems to be ok to accept this, and ok to forgive and let it go? What are we going to tell our children and grandkids of what is good and what is bad? How will they differentiate when this becomes the history?

Think about this and act at every opportunity to make right what had been wrong all these while.

If all those USD billions are shared among the Malaysian population - everyone might become a millionaire. On serious note, if those rooted money are spent to improve KL drainage system - we don't suffered flash flood yesterday. On serious factual note, we can even be better than Singapore in term of Health system, Government system, Transportation system, Wealth of the nation and Population wealthy value if NOT of crooked Politician of the past and present.

And all the faux leader had to do was hire a team of data analysts and marketing gurus to craft out their social media posts in series over many months and years to blind and sway the general public and managed to make themselves into a lovable figure #Bossku

Well said Anwar! Figures are so mind boggling, almost beyond comprehension and giving some perspective to the numbers, as you have done, shows the monstrosity of the theft and lost opportunities, not to mention the multiplier effect that could otherwise have been realized! Good piece...thanks
