Exam Duration: 3 hours
Exam Format: exams are performance-based, meaning that you must successfully complete tasks in real time on an Elastic cluster while a proctor watches both you and your screen remotely. This approach to testing makes our certifications meaningful in the industry, since Elastic Certified Professionals have proven their skills in a hands-on environment.
Exam Cost: 400 USD
Number of questions: 8–12
Exam format: need to solve a problem by writing code that runs in a virtual environment. output is machine evaluated for accuracy. no human involvement.

I went through 2 above courses end to end twice doing all the hands on the Virtual machine or on elastic website (cloud based) available for trial for 14 days where in you can test hands on.
Books:

Pre Exam:
I have mostly practiced on the linux academy's virtual servers or on elastic cloud trial.
Also it is pretty easy to spin up a local elastic single node dev cluster for practice.
Total preparation time around 45 days.
Be very familiar with where to look within elastic website for documentation as you can quickly reach there then copy->paste->modify accordingly.
Also do a lot of searches within elastic docs to see if you can your content quickly
During Exam:
- I opted to take this exam at home because of covid.
- Stay Calm and focussed
- Exam is 3 hour long but the time flies. you can set aside 10 minutes for each question. If you get stuck then move on.
- You can refer the documentation during the exam
Post Exam:
Exam will tell you via email in 2-4 hours whether you passed or not.
You wait for a day or 2 with the certification emailed to you.

Attempt:
I passed this exam on my 1st attempt but the exam is really hard and need serious practice.
