How did I get 2,400 connections on 'LinkedIn' in two months?
I am a humble New Zealander living in Japan making a living as an Assistant Language Teacher. I started using LinkedIn to see if it could make a difference in my career and social life. I found out it could in a Big Way!
My first step to success was to 'Connect' with my friends and family who network here. It was interesting to catch up with old friends and see where life had taken them.
The second step was to 'Follow' famous LinkedIn Influencers and companies which interested me. I followed Anthony J James for his motivating quotes and tech posts. I also followed LinkedIn for their informative posts.
My third step was to 'Join' some groups. I became a member with some in relevance to Japan and teaching.
The fourth step was to regularly 'Share' content so I could gather a following. At one point I was posting five times a day. I shared technology, motivation, Japan and "Day Of The Year" posts.
My fifth step was joining 'Open Networking' groups. I met a lot of kind people that would connect with me and support my posts.
The sixth step was 'Engaging' in content that was of interest to me. I made a lot of connections along the way with the same outlook or ideals.
My seventh step was to find 'Unique' content like the "D.I.Y. solar powered house" post featured on my profile. Another is when I was on holiday by taking a video of a lake and writing my own quote.
The seventh step was to make 'Polls'. I was surprised how well they were received. An example is "What Social Networking Platform do you use the Most?".
I must thank all my treasured connections for being there for me every step of the way. It has been an interesting and exhilarating ride so far!
I Wish you all the Best in Networking at LinkedIn! Thank you for reading.
