Not, How Did He Die, But How Did He Live?

Not, How Did He Die, But How Did He Live?

In my book 'What Kind of Funeral? - ' I talk about the MANY CHOICES available to families when planning a funeral. This post provides some useful information on funeral poems to share with your clients.

Funeral poetry, readings and verse can enhance a funeral service or ceremony whether it be religious or non-religious. Funeral poems are a great way to share how you feel about someone you have lost and pay tribute to the memories that you hold dearest. The choice of poem is very personal, but I hope you find an appropriate poem from our collection.

Not, How Did He Die, But How Did He Live?

Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away.
