How Did it Get so Late so Soon?

Today, because I have more years behind me than before, I appreciate and understand the great truth presented by Dr. Seuss, “How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness, how the time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?”
Because time is finite and opportunities are limitless, successful people choose and invest in priority projects and activities. The most critical projects deserve our best attention. Use time working on tasks that bring you closer to your goals and eliminate distancing activities that sap strength. Avoid the “Everything is important” trap. Everything is not essential. Only the truly important is vital. Unsuccessful people choose the default choice and buy into the comfortable, non-important, not urgent activities—though they may be fun.
We measure real-time with clocks and calendars. Yet, our sense of time may be short or long. Our lives are enhanced or limited by the personal management of two critical factors: Time and Money. We have some influence on both outcomes, yet elements beyond our control direct them. It would help if you guarded your time because once it’s flown, it’s gone.
One day, you will say, “How did it get so late so soon?” Let Dr. Seuss’ statement challenge and motivate you to use your time skillfully. Yes, be busy, but make it a focused busyness. Hold to your plan and do activities that lead to goal achievement.
